A full compliance service designed specifically for the EU Emissions Trading System (EUETS) - we take the headache out of the regulations by guiding you through the whole process, from whether you need to be involved in the scheme or not to annual submission of data and reporting.
How it works
You must register to be part of EUETS if your site has carbon-producing equipment with a total combined rated thermal input of more than 20MW and then fulfil a wide variety of reporting obligations every year.
If the total carbon produced by your site exceeds your annual allowance, you need to ‘trade’ it with other scheme participants. If you have leftover allowance you can sell it on the ‘carbon market’ to those who require it.
There are harsh financial penalties in place for those who fulfil the eligibility requirements and do not sign up to the scheme or do not meet their annual obligations once joining. The penalties can account to hundreds of thousands of pounds – so it is imperative that if you are a large-scale carbon producer, you determine whether you need to be a part of the scheme or not.
How you benefit
- Expert assessment of your site for scheme eligibility - if your installation is on the borderline for being part of EUETS, there may be options available that can result in you not having to be part of the scheme at all, which can save you a great deal of hassle.
- Complete peace of mind – we oversee the entire process from start to finish, from handling your application to join the scheme to offering a wealth of advice for dealing with the annual requirements of data and report submission, as well as procedure drafting and overall compliance.
- Timely trading of your carbon allowances - we manage your EUETS accounts, ensuring you are properly set up on the required EU websites, as well as arranging for purchase, surrender and allocation of carbon allowances on your behalf.
